Short Tricks

Eudora's Nac Mac Feegles (2nd place)

Eudora L'Reaux gets a bottle of scumble from her pack, opens it and places it
on the ground. She smirks, saying " You'll wish you hadn't done that!" and
summons the Nac Mac Feegles offering them the Scumble.

Eudora L'Reaux curses something under her breath. Out of the corner of your eye
you see shadows scuttle about. The clan of Nac Mac Feegles surrounds Eudora
L'Reaux. They drink the Scumble and start scrapping amongst themselves.

Eudora points at Unlucky Charlie and grunts. With a ferocious cheer the Feegles
attack Unlucky Charlie and each other.. Unlucky Charlie starts swatting the
Feegles like flies. You hear a "Crivens!" as Unlucky Charlie runs away pursued
by the Feegles.
You glance at Unlucky Charlie.
Unlucky Charlie fidgets uncomfortably.

Lady Frazyl raises her arms to the skies convoking a flock of weather spirits.

You can feel invisible powers channelling throughout Lady Frazyl's body.

Lady Frazyl starts dancing convulsively and manages to release the forces inside her.

A furious storm arrives that clears the sky and paints it a brilliant deep blue on its leaving.

Wicked Ved peers at a nearby frog, and somehow its image is channeled into the foreground of your thoughts.

Wicked Ved evokes images of a nice damp swamp, filled with nice muddy pools of water and lots of delicious flies.

Unlucky Charlie suddenly goes green in the face. He hops around a bit, and he looks alarmed. Unlucky Charlie opens his mouth and screams: Ribbit!

Wee Ocelind's Musickal Memorys (that could not be shown)

Due to the spell not recognizing the "Dwarfs With Altitude" t-shirt component, this could not be shown during the Trials.

Ocelind provided the following that was supposed to happen.

Ocelind looks intently at her Dwarfs with Altitude band t-shirt, evoking the memories of her first and favourite music concert.
With a low rumbling, an elaborate wooden stage rises from the earth in front of Ocelind.
The sound of a chanting crowd begins to echo around the beaming Ocelind, as four handsome young dwarfs take their places on the stage.
The four dwarfs deliver an exhilarating musical performance to a rapt audience. Ocelind looks like she could faint with excitement at any second.

Mocks

Lovejoy (2nd place)

Wee Lovejoy Bellerose loudly says: You call that mocking, Unlucky Charlie?
You've always admired, I've heard, anybody who had a wicked word, and so I
say to you Charlie today, that things just didn't go your way! Your
mocking was sub par, and you've failed by far, even Nadow with her
poisoned apples, could with words better than you grapple! So it's best
that you give up, and just take yourself off to the pub, because at
mocking you have failed, and for the last time you have wailed.

Eudora (3rd place)

Eudora L'Reaux loudly exclaims with a Morporkian accent: You call that fading,
Unlucky Charlie? Oh deary, our Charlie. If that is what you call fading I
could go swimming and then call it wading. Why our Nanny Ogg, she may be
quite big, and as we all know she drinks pints of scumble in one swig. And
being drunk and up for dancing, our dear Nanny can still use her glancing.
She might be getting on but she can still hide, even with a hive of bees
up her backside. Yet here you are, trying to fade but still you move as if
on a parade. Look, I see you still fidgeting, it's such a bad habit, if
you carry on people will mistake you for a rabbit. I saw better fading
from children on sugar, try to sit still you wriggly wee bugger! If you're
in the shades and there's thieves all around, you'll be wishing you could
fade into the background. Even our lovely Agnes, when oberserving this,
would be calling you names like clot and dimwitt. So you'd best up your
game and start to try harder or I'll pop round your house and i'll tell
thee father! And I tell thee now he will not be impressed to hear his
young seed is making such mess. Now pay attention and stop wombling
around, put in some effort and make us all proud!
Eudora L'Reaux loudly exclaims with a Morporkian accent: You call that dodging,
Unlucky Charlie? Really? Now our Charlie With dodging like that you will
never be able to dodge your taxes. The Tax Collecter will have a field day
with you my love. Better give up now before Granny Watherwax gets wind of
how bad you are at dodging! For crying out loud just start ducking
instead. Mind you the Ducks would be very offended if your ducking is
anything like this dodging. That is some truly terrible dodging right
there!I've seen barn walls move better than you! Why, I haven't seen
dodging this dreadful since our Wee Agnes Nitt, mind you this was many
years ago, tried to dodge the trees whilst flying on her broom through the
forrest and we all know how that ended. Poor Lass. She has never been
quite the same since and prefers to walk everywhere. AS A HAG! So if you
don't wanna end up like our poor Agnes you'd best learn to dodge! If you
get some practise in you might even be able to dodge an insult from a wet
     hen!

Umiven (4th place)

Multilingual Umiven Ultion loudly says with a Morporkian accent: You call that
slacking, Unlucky Charlie? Lawks, our Charlie, now get out of my way. I'm
ashamed by your slacking display. I'll show you how to do slacking proper.
Just watch this, it'll be a real showstopper. To get good, you've got to
put in the time. Your slacking seemed more like a war crime. Now slacking
is not really my strong suit, but I'll surpass you and I'll help you to
boot. That's it, our Charlie, your skills are starting to climb. Now feel
you competence soar through my rhyme! Truly though, our Charlie, I hold
you in high regard. Anyone can make slacking look easy, but you make it
     look hard.

Ocelind

Unfortunately, Ocelind's spoken Morporkian wasn't high enough for the mock to come through right. Unmangled version below.

Ocelind loudly says with an Uberwaldean accent: You call that mocko, Unlucky
Charlie? I've got three words for you: Drop beat. Uhhius. / Yeah. /
Let's go. / You caelgium that a mock? Err. Witch, give me a break. / Ille
sumiti sutrium a magnus crock, is this a mock mick take? / Spittin' fire?
Err. Nah, You couldn't rehedo the seitan, / For Old Auntie Ogg-San's

wished was dead. / So cuius you came out here, you really made a mistake.
/ If this had been a bake off you'd be undercooked cake. Uhm. / Think
you've got it down, but you keep making howl --ack! Err. Uhm. / You should
volunteer your voice for stuffed animal growlers. / Well, I gotta

people's self esteem. Err. / Yeah you've got all the warts so you think
     you've --ack! Uhm. Uhm. / I've just got 99 levels as a witch---you're
     done.

/ Spittin' fire? Nah, You couldn't reheat the seitan, / For Old Auntie Ogg-San's
picnic vacation. / See I used to be the sous-chef that she most trusted, / Until

     got 99 levels as a witch---you're done.

Ved's mocking trick (off competition)

Ved loudly exclaims: You call that scarecrowing, Unlucky Charlie? What kind of scaring is that? When I was but a lass I once saw Old Sand-Eye scare a
whole field of birds to death just by squinting at them. There are literally birds dancing on your nose!
Unlucky Charlie is so embarrased by Ved's cruel mockery that his head spontaneously explodes! Bits of pumpkin rain down everywhere.
You glance at Unlucky Charlie.
Unlucky Charlie fidgets uncomfortably.

Long Tricks

Haize's Passenger Broom (2nd place)

Haize exclaims with an Uberwaldean accent: I'm afraid I didn't actually get
round to making a trick. However, I thought I'd take this chance to show
you all something really exciting I've been involved in playtesting!

Haize rummages around in her inventory fruitlessly, but after some cursing,
finally finds what she's looking for: a chunky-looking broomstick.

Haize channels energy and fuels the broomstick with so much power that it
sloshes out and pollutes the environment. This is the way lovely sunsets are
made.

With a charming smile, Haize invites Unlucky Charlie to join her on the
broomstick. Then with the flamboyance that only a witch could have, she
adjusts her pair of dark sunglasses and prepares for liftoff.

Unfortunately, the effect is somewhat spoiled when Haize starts running up and
down to bump start her trusty steed, with Unlucky Charlie precariously balanced
behind her. At last she succeeds, and they take off into the air with a
WHOOSH!

Mid way through a lap of the area, a passing creator spots them and possesses
Unlucky Charlie! As they land, he scolds Haize soundly for sharing features in
development, and dests the broomstick. Haize looks chastened.

Lovejoy's Marshmallow Madness

Wee Lovejoy Bellerose holds her rose-patterned bowl and whips air into her
sugar syrup to make it fluffy and nice.

Wee Lovejoy Bellerose smiles enchantingly and croons to her marshmallow
mixture, convincing it to be smooth and delicious.

Wee Lovejoy Bellerose turns out her marshmallow mixture into a buttered pan
and brews herself a nice cup of tea.

Wee Lovejoy Bellerose sprinkles powdered sugar over her marshmallows and
summons a little sugar fairy for luck.

Wee Lovejoy smiles as she checks on her perfect pillowy marshmallows.

OnnaStick's Extreme Teatime (4th place)

OnnaStick clears her throat.

Whispering a curse, OnnaStick waves her wand at Lord Camelion Sinensis and
transforms him into dried leaves.

Chanting a naughty song, OnnaStick breaks off a handful of Lord Camelion
Sinensis and crushes it into her cup.

OnnaStick stares longingly into the cup and sighs, conjuring water to fill the
cup!

OnnaStick waves her wand beneath the cup and cusses a fire into being,
simmering its contents gently.

Waiting for Lord Camelion Sinensis to finish brewing, OnnaStick eyes the cup
thirstily and raises it to her lips.

Half-drunk, Lord Camelion Sinensis slips into darkness with a loud slurping
sound.

Umiven's Scandalous Steamer (3rd place)

Multilingual Umiven Ultion takes a teapot and some herbs from your pouch. She
places the teapot on the ground and puts the herbs in the teapot. Multilingual
Umiven Ultion waves her hands about and make a tiny raincloud above your
teapot, which fills the teapot with water.

Multilingual Umiven Ultion look for a fire source but can't seem to find one.
Meanwhile you notice Unlucky Charlie ogling Multilingual Umiven Ultion, which
she seems to notice. Multilingual Umiven Ultion slightly lifts up her dress
just enough to show her ankle to Unlucky Charlie and twirls it around.

Unlucky Charlie quickly looks the other way, pretending not to notice. Unlucky
Charlie can't resist but look at Multilingual Umiven Ultion's ankle. Slowly,
raunchy thoughts start evoking in his mind. Unlucky Charlie's head turns bright
red. Steam starts rushing out of his ears.

Multilingual Umiven Ultion picks up the teapot and sashays over to Unlucky
Charlie. She locks eyes with Unlucky Charlie and places the teapot on his head.
It takes only few moments for the tea to steam as well and finish brewing.

Umiven takes the teapot from Unlucky Charlie's head, who runs away red-faced,
and pour herself a nice cup of tea. Instead of steam, you see sparks rising
from the cup.
You glance at Unlucky Charlie.
Unlucky Charlie fidgets uncomfortably.

  • for the mock category, a note indicating your interest in participating.

Correspondence

For all categories, if you won't be able to make the trials in person, you can still participate! Please mail/tell me (Wogh),

  • the name of a delegate who will perform your trick or mock for you, and
  • the name of a delegate who will choose your prize for you

[QiuYan was accepting labeled hag stones, but I am but a Wet Henne and I will not be able to perform your elaborate tricks. Plus, this seems easier (for me) to manage]

tell wogh vote:<witch>:<category number>

tell wogh vote:wogh:3

Prize update!

Quotid has very generously given us 700 royals from The Illuminated Teapot. I think it is safe to say I have never handled this much money before ever and I am also waddling under the weight because money is heavy. However, I bought a special bag for the royals and my bat's lugging them around now in her spiffy new bag.

Thank you Quotid!

You could make a lot of money by participating in the Witch Trials! Lots of prizes and possibly attending gifts!

The fastest more usual way to make one-time high amounts of money is probably quests. But we can't discuss those on public channels. There is more information on the wiki and in the playing menu of the mud website.

Selling items to general shops (or fencing which is more profitable but you need valueing) is a rather simple way to make money, just use 'keep' on your items to not sell them by accident.
There's items that can regularly be found in some rooms, but the leftovers from other players are likely to be a lot more plentiful.
You can 'recover corpses' in places where other players hunt, take the items and then bury the corpses again. Djelibeybi is not too big, so offers a decent chances for this.

Most jobs/missions require an investment of exp before you can do them.
Helping Pennie Laced in Ohulan Cutash might not need skills or just a bit of perception.

Responding to quizzes (with good answers) in the AM Daily gives money, but just once a month. You could also write for the newspapers to make more money!

If you want to kill things then once you get some decent skills you can make money regularly. Exp-wise it's a near infinite sink though. And if you die you need money to buy lives.

That's what comes to mind.
