It was organized and hosted by Nyla.

It started around 6:10 PM GMT and ended approximately an hour later.

Performances

Tricks

Freestyle Tricks, 1-2 stages

Spip's Spinning Spectre

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: In 1-2 stage Free-style Tricks, we
have Spip, performing Spip's Spinning Spectre.
Black Spip takes Unlucky Charlie down from his pole.
Black Black Spip turns her eyes on Unlucky Charlie, intent on cursing him in
    the worst possible way.
Black Black Spip twirls and twirls, summoning something horrible to exact her
    vengeance upon Unlucky Charlie.
A half-formed spectre crawls from under Black Spip's garments, and lunges at
Unlucky Charlie. The effect is somewhat diminished by the fact that it is the
spectre of a vole. And not a particularly corpulent one.
    Black Spip bows.

Elspeth's Brewer

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: And next we have Elspeth, with
    Elspeth's Brewer.
    Mrs Elspeth Disease brews tea.
That's news to you and me.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: Short and simple
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: (really hadn't prepared for this)

Freestyle Tricks, 3-5 stages

Velma's Collective Madness

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: And for 3-5 stage Free-style
Tricks, the opening Trick will be Velma's Collective Madness, by Velma.
Velma draws a square in the air. She reaches into the centre of the square to
draw aside a pair of imaginary curtains revealing a proscenium stage. A crew of
stage hands start to arrange perches upstage.
Velma draws her hands together again and a charm of finches flutters in from
    the wings chirping and warbling.
As Velma suddenly lifts her hands a convocation of eagles swoops from the
flyspace and circles above the stage.
A wunch of bankers prance onto the stage blowing bubbles. Suddenly one of them
trips and falls. The other bankers start crying and tearing the shirts off the
stage crew to bandage their wallets. Velma closes the curtains in disgust.
    Velma bows.

Spip's Spectacular Quantum Thingybob

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Next up is Spip, with Spip's
    Spectacular Quantum Thingybob.
Black Spip looks carefully around the place, trying to divine the whereabouts
    of the essence of Quantum.
Catching sight of a strange moth, Black Spip tries convoking it to her
    presence.
Black Spip seems to be charming the strange butterfly, who gently lands on the
tip of her index finger and brushes Black Spip's eyelashes with the tip of its
    left wing.
Suddenly, the Quantum Butterfly takes flight, and Spip contorts her face in a
mad grin. You find yourself running for cover, as a huge assortment of kitchen
utensils rains down on the whole area. It must be Quantum.
    Black Spip bows.

Elspeth's Dull Day

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Next up is Elspeth with Elspeth's
    Dull Day.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: Well mine is dull... like its name... and I think Spip's won anyway... but here goes...
Mrs Elspeth Disease waves her finger in the air.
Mrs Elspeth Disease animatedly runs her fingers through her hair.
Mrs Elspeth Disease brews the tea for a henne or three.
Mrs Elspeth Disease scries some players and flies away.
That is Elspeth's dull life for today.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: I think I entered that at the last Trials, that's how old it is.
    :0P
    Mrs Elspeth Disease bows demurely.

Poems

Spring-themed Poems

Springtime Kisses

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Next is Springtime Poems...
Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: I will be reciting a short one,
    created on the fly.
Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: It has no title right now.
Nyla recites daintily: Flowers growing, ever showing
Nyla recites daintily: Up above the fresh green grass,
Nyla recites daintily: Waving in the wind that's blowing
Nyla recites daintily: As soft 's a kiss from a Lancre lass.
    Nyla bows.

Freestyle Poems Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Next, for Freestyle Poems, we have
MotherGoose with Mary Mary Quite Contrary.
Old MotherGoose sits up straight on the fence rail
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: This is a bit of a spring poem as well. but is a recitation rather than a new work...
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: In honor of my most recent bat....
Old MotherGoose clears her throat and speaks in a clear voice.
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: Mary Mary
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: Quite contrary.
Old MotherGoose asks with a Lancrastian accent: How does -your- garden grow?
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: With silver bells
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: and cockle shells
Old MotherGoose says with a Lancrastian accent: and pretty maids all in a row.
    Old MotherGoose smiles.
    Old MotherGoose bows her head

Mocks

Springtime Mocks

MotherGoose's Mock

Old MotherGoose squints critically at Nyla.
Old MotherGoose puts the evil eye on Nyla.
Old MotherGoose loudly says with a Lancrastian accent: You call that casting,
Nyla? you call that casting? That is just plucking flowers. Uhm. Why
Magrat could cast faster while skipping through springtime meadows. Nanny
Ogg could cast better than that and bring in the spring showers.
Nyla looks determined to do better.
    Old MotherGoose grins.

Freestyle Mocks

Elspeth's Mock

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: And I believe Elspeth is going to
    grace us with one next?
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: okay I have a few so erm... I'll just pick one
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: Hmmm I need to be in a group
Nyla wonders if she's going to be the target again.
Mrs Elspeth Disease loudly says: You call that stabbing, Nyla? I've seen
better stabbing from Lotte after a few bevvies in the casino. That girl
doesnae half like her alcohol, I can tell ye! Never seen a lassie so
drunk! In fact, if ye dae see a lassie that inebriated maybe you should
alert Iatemycat. He seems tae like tae take advantage o' drunken girls no
matter who they are, an' if he's drunk enough, what they look like. He'd
run off wi' Nanny Ogg given half a chance! $*$
    Nyla looks determined to succeed.
    Mrs Elspeth Disease grins.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: I have lots
Rohan says: I LIKE that mock
Rohan beams at Mrs Elspeth Disease.

Potions

Spring Sneezes

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: And in the category Potions, we
have Old MotherGoose, performing Spring Sneezes.
Old MotherGoose pulls out a purple bottle
Old MotherGoose opens a packet and pours elm dust into the purple bottle
Old MotherGoose opens a packet and pours daisy pollen into the purple bottle
Old MotherGoose opens a packet and pours ground pepper into the purple bottle
Old MotherGoose gives the bottles a good shake
Old MotherGoose offers a sip to Charlie. Forces a sip into Charlie. Watches as
Charlie convulses and then sneezes a mighty sneeze.
    Black Spip comforts Unlucky Charlie.
    Old MotherGoose bows.
Mrs Elspeth Disease exclaims: well thought out, that witch!

The Perfect Cup of Tea

Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Announcing Elspeth in the category
Potions, with The Perfect Cup of Tea!
    Nyla claps her hands.
Mrs Elspeth Disease juggles around her stuff and fumbles a cup.
Mrs Elspeth Disease gets one sugar lump from a pocket in a rose coloured and
cream white carpetbag between opening and closing it.
Mrs Elspeth Disease gets a cup from a fallow field.
Mrs Elspeth Disease drops five slightly rotten Gammer Smith apples.
Mrs Elspeth Disease gets ten sugar lumps from a sugar basin.
Mrs Elspeth Disease empties the sugar basin.
Mrs Elspeth Disease puts eleven sugar lumps in the sugar basin.
    Mrs Elspeth Disease says: okay
Mrs Elspeth Disease takes a hideous cow teapot from her carpetbag.
    Nyla grins.
Mrs Elspeth Disease pours a drop of tea from the hideous cow teapot into the
    cup.
Mrs Elspeth Disease waggles her cup.
Mrs Elspeth Disease gets two sugar lumps from a sugar basin.
Mrs Elspeth Disease empties the cup.
Mrs Elspeth Disease puts two sugar lumps in the cup.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: 2 sugars... lovely
Mrs Elspeth Disease waggles her hipflask.
Mrs Elspeth Disease says: this has scumble in it... it's mainly apples
    Mrs Elspeth Disease says: mainly
Nyla grins at Mrs Elspeth Disease.
Mrs Elspeth Disease opens the blackened hipflask.
    Old MotherGoose grins.
Mrs Elspeth Disease pours the blackened hipflask into the cup, spilling some in
    the process.
    Mrs Elspeth Disease goes mmmm.
Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: So, the ingredients are sugar, a
    drop of tea, and scumble?
Mrs Elspeth Disease stirs the contents of the cup with her crystal bladed
    dagger.
    Nyla cheers enthusiastically.
Mrs. Elspeth Disease nodnods at Nyla.
Mrs Elspeth Disease sips the cup with a look of mixed pleasure and regret.
Nyla says with an Ohulan accent: Sounds good to me!
Mrs Elspeth Disease exclaims: aaah perrfect!
    Mrs Elspeth Disease bows demurely.

WITCH TRIALS
Note #35 by Nyla at Sun Jan 1 22:34:46 2012 [EST] on board frog

Hello everyone!

I'll be holding the Witch Trials on the 7th of January, at the site of Unlucky Charlie in Lancre Town.

I'm new to this, having never held one before, so please forgive any stupidities I may commit.

If anyone more familiar with this would care to help me, her offer would not be turned away.

These are the performances I have so far:
1) Themed Tricks - Happy Hogswatch! (Tricks based on Christmas and New Year's)
2) 1-2 stage free-style Tricks
3) 3-5 stage free-style Tricks
4) Hogswatch poems
5) Free-style Mocks
6) Hogswatch Mocks (I look forward to seeing anything festively scathing!)
7) Potions (Just a short description of a potion a witch makes up, explaining its use, appearance and anything else about it)

I don't think I'm going to post the prizes, so that they can be SURprizes.

I also have the idea that people can come and sell things if they care to. Sweeties, herbs, hatpins, baskets, flowers, anything they want to get rid of or just feel like selling for roleplay reasons.

Again, I am completely new at this, and would very much appreciate advice.

Thanks, and sorry for not giving you more of a warning. If anyone would like to suggest different dates or anything let me know. And I'll think about the times for the performances and post them here.

NEW DATE FOR WITCH TRIALS
Note #10 by Nyla at Fri Feb 17 14:55:38 2012 [EST] on board witchesguild

Okay! Now, I highly doubt that the power outages will happen in March, so the date on which the Witch Trials will happen is MARCH 24 AT 6:00 PM GMT.

The categories are:

1) Themed Tricks - Spring
2) 1-2 stage Free-style Tricks
3) 3-5 stage Free-style Tricks
4) Springtime poems
5) Free-style Mocks
6) Springtime Mocks (try and give someone happy flowery malicious encouragement!)
7) Potions (just a short description of a potion you make up)

Again, I'm not going to state the prizes.

Hope to see you there!
-- Nyla

P.S. By the way, if anyone wants to, he/she is welcome to be selling things like (non-healing) tea, hag stones, and herbs at the Trials.

Reminder about Witch Trials
Note #9 by Nyla at Fri Mar 23 14:50:30 2012 [EST] on board witchesguild

Hello everyone,
Just a reminder that the Trials will be happening at 6:00 PM GMT tomorrow (Saturday). I hope to see you there.

Also, for anyone who a) forgot to write a Trick/Mock, b) isn't a high enough level to write a Trick/Mock, or c) didn't realise that the Trials were happening is still able to participate; you can write a springtime-themed poem, and/or the ingredients, appearance and purpose of a potion that you make up, and say these details to the audience.

It would make things slightly easier, if you are planning anything for tomorrow, if you could let me know. However, it's not necessary.

I am still working on the logs, and recovering mentally from the excitement. Do you have a suggestion on where to post the logs?

The winners in the category Tricks were Spip with Spip's Spinning Spectre, First Place; Velma with Velma's Collective Madness, Second Place; and Elspeth with Elspeth's Dull Day, Third Place.

In Poems, the people who entered were Nyla (with "Springtime Kisses") and MotherGoose (with "Mary Mary Quite Contrary").

For Mocks there was Elspeth, who took First Place, and MotherGoose, who got Second Place.

And in Potions, MotherGoose demonstrated her potion, "Spring Sneezes," and Elspeth showed hers, "The Perfect Cup of Tea."

After the Trials, we all nibbled on cupcakes and cookies, and sipped tea. There was supposed to be scumble, but a wizard (I won't give names) drank it all before the Trials were over.
