Good for you! You have moulded a piece of pottery, and it even may vaguely look like what you were attempting to make! Let's get out a brush and decorate that sucker to make it look pretty!

The skillcheck for successfully staining a pottery item is crafts.pottery.staining. Depending on the complexity of the design, it may take from one to three applications of stain to achieve the final product; and generally the more complex the pattern, the higher the bonus needed to achieve better outcomes.

Quality
The adverb seen while glazing an object provide an indication as to final degree of success. Different colors can be utilized at each step of a multi-step design. However, an object can only be stained with one design; and designs with multiple steps cannot be altered to a new design in the middle of the staining process.

Staining progression messages:

Where there is more than one step in staining an object, it is the final adverb which sets how the design looks. For instance, in a three step staining process which gives "carefully...carefully...casually", the object will acquire the "casual" design output.
If an object is being stained with a multi-step design and it is examined in the middle of a process, the following will be seen in the description:
- "An unfinished stained pattern adorns it."
