A blue crystal ring aka ring of recall is an artifact which has the power to teleport the wearer when used.

Usage
The blue crystal ring is used by 'twist'ing it. When the ring is twisted, it will instantly teleport the wearer away if:
- There are enough charges left in the ring (each usage uses up one charge).
- The wearer passes a magic.items.worn.ring skillcheck. A bonus of approximately 200 is required to use the ring with confidence.
The ring will teleport the wearer to a random room, which tends to be a room with a lot of thaums. It is unclear how the room is selected, but it probably is a room somewhat recently visited by a player.
The ring can also teleport the user to the Hub, a very dangerous area with extremely high background magic and extreme cold.
The wearer can determine how many charges remain either by having Fabrication Classification Identification cast on the ring, or by zapping it with a thin stick.
Warning: The ring of recall can transport you in greater trouble than you were in and it needs some time before you can use it again. Having more than one is prudent.
Acquisition
Blue crystal rings are generally hard to find and expensive to purchase. Their cost is variable, and depends on the number of charges that they come with.
The following table gives the parameters that make up the price of blue rings in npc shops.
The price calculations differ between currencies.
For example:

Blue crystal rings are sold in the following locations:
- Strumplott's Talismans in the Magical Supplies Emporium on Sator Square in Ankh-Morpork.
- The magic shop in Hillshire.
- In the Magic and Meddlers' Shop inside the House of Magic in Creel Springs.
- A strange alleyway in Ephebe.
These shops have rotating stocks and sometimes do not stock the blue crystal rings.
Recharging
Blue crystal rings can be recharged by wizards, however, they are notoriously difficult and dangerous to recharge.
