While idling and advancing co.lockpick.doors by about a hundred levels, I've found that the thing I'm probing (Pandora's Box... oddly it isn't remotely doorlike but I guess it uses that skill) steadily appears easier and easier (and I haven't been advancing any other skills during this time). So I conclude that the results you get from probe tell you how easy it would be for you to pick that lock... not how easy the lock would be to pick on some objective scale.
Difficulty levels found so far:
- Quite hard (with 263 co.lo.do bonus)
- Hard (285 bonus)
- Somewhat hard (290-299 bonus)
- Somewhat easy (301-302 bonus)
