Research:Experience points reduction
The testing started by running a good first hour, making over 1 million xp. At the end of the hour the octograve command was used and the xp returned from the command measured, this was noted against the current xp earned for the last hour. Combat on neutral tactics was then resumed to regen gp as fast as possible. Once at max gp, a series of eleven low-gp commands were executed to reset the command rotation and the next octograve command xp measured. This process was repeated until the last hours rate was displayed as less than 500kxp.
The measurement of current rate relied on a client mod and that introduces a small error, but after performing regression on the results shown in the table below it was easy to identify the formula for rates greater than 500,000xp as :-
XP Reduction Percentage = 50,000,000 / XP Rate
Once the formula had been identified it was spot-confirmed by a character that hadn't completed the Good Day achievement so that "ach progress good day" could be used to capture the server's measure of rate rather than rely on a client mod. The calculated and measured values matched to within less than 0.1% error.
|XP Rate||Cmd XP||% of Max|
- Rate is defined as the XP earned in the previous hour at the time of measuring the xp returned by the octograve command.
- The command used was octograve, this command was surrounded by score brief to accurately measure the xp returned.
- The maximum xp return from octograve is 30x50gp = 1500xp.
