Peacock (Bes Pelargic - Hong Pagoda Garden)

This huge peacock has a beautiful brightly coloured fan shaped tail. Much bigger than your average pheasant, his green, blue and purple coloured tail is designed to attract peahens.

Peacock (Bes Pelargic - Tang Estate)

This aged peacock is the one and only survivor of the Tangs' once impressive collection of animals. After the families' descent into harder times, the peacock's entire harem of females was flogged to some lower nobility. As the peacock has now become demented, he hasn't noticed this yet. On warm days he can be seen frantically waddling around the garden, looking for one of his mates. To the Tangs' dismay this has led to some unfortunate accidents with their guests. As a House is supposed to have at least one peacock, they have learned to overlook this.

Peacock (Terrains)

What immediately jumps to mind at the sight of this bird is his impractically long bronze and green tail that drags after him when he walks, unless fanned up over his body to make him appear about five times as big and sexy as he actually is. The arrogant little white face, bare beneath the green crest of feathers, contrasts with his colourful and abundant plumage. He has long legs well suited for the open grassland at the forest's edge and on the plains and is rather big enough to shoo off most small predators - if his peck doesn't do it, his shrill cry certainly will, given that most predators have acute hearing and the peacock has, as they say, a voice for the ballet and legs for the opera.

Peahen (Terrains)

It speaks much for the brilliance of the peacock that the peahen's plumage appears modest by comparison to his. By any other standards she would be resplendent in the rich blues and greens that match her husband. Her arrogant little white face contrasts with her elegant plumage. She has long legs well suited for the open grassland at the forest's edge and on the plains, and is rather big enough to give any small predators a serious pecking.

Special Notes

  • The corpses of male peacocks from the terrains will provide a peacock feather.
  • Su Su the Peacock is the Sung Family pet.
