The short description is always <colour> <type>.

Ankle-length boots

This pair of ankle-length grey boots is sturdily fashioned from <style> <material>. The soles, over an inch thick, are reinforced for strength and to raise the wearer above anything unpleasant on the ground. The <material> slouches loosely about the ankle, though it embraces the foot snugly, tapering to a pointed toe. The boots are fastened with <fastening>.

Knee-length boots

This pair of knee-length <colour> boots is sturdily fashioned from <style> <material>. The soles, over an inch thick, are reinforced for strength and to raise the wearer above anything unpleasant on the ground. The <material> slouches loosely about the leg, though it embraces the foot snugly, tapering to a pointed toe. The boots are fastened with <fastening>.

Calf-length boots

This pair of calf-length <colour> boots is sturdily fashioned from <style> <material>. The soles, over an inch thick, are reinforced for strength and to raise the wearer above anything unpleasant on the ground. The <material> slouches loosely about the calf, though it embraces the foot snugly, tapering to a pointed toe. The boots are fastened with <fastening>.

Soft-soled shoes

These soft-soled <colour> shoes are sturdily fashioned from <style> <material>. The thin rubber soles are designed to allow the wearer to move stealthily and silently, and are dimpled underneath for grip. The <material> cases the foot snugly, fastened securely with <fastening> and tapering to a slightly triangular toe.

Hob-nailed boots

Vicious-looking hobnails have been hammered through the soles of these <colour> <material> boots to provide secure footing on treacherous terrain. The uppers, made of <style> <material>, climb some way up the legs, and are fastened with <fastening>.

Air rincewinds

For all your running-away needs, we present the new air rincewinds, courtesy of Tryx Enterprises - now with added eyes painted on the heels, and also the dictionary of 'Arrrgh' in seven languages carved in small letters into the soles, for easy reference. This pair is made of <colour> <style> <material>, and securely fastened with <fastening>, to ensure you won't lose a shoe at that crucial moment.

Stompy boots

These heavy <colour> <material> boots seem to be made especially for the purpose of stomping around happily in, possibly while kicking up large piles of leaves. They lack the traditional Ephebian pointed toe, in favour of the reinforced stubbish look, and are fastened with <fastening>.

Heavy boots

These are seriously heavy-duty boots. They look capable of knocking down a farmhouse if necessary, or even kicking the Red Squid to death. They are made of <style> <material>, toughened and reinforced almost out of recognition, and fastened with <fastening>. Raw leather straps zigzag up the back of the calves, providing extra support, or possibly just looking very tough.

Sandshoes

These casual, durable <colour> sandshoes are sturdily fashioned from <style> <material>. The soles are of toughened, water-proofed leather, slashed with criss-cross markings for extra grip. The <material> slouches loosely about the foot, fastened in place with <fastening>.

Gumboots

These <colour> gumboots reach to just below the knee, providing ample foot protection against puddles and mud. They are made of <style> <material>, coated with gum to make it proof against water, and fastened with <fastening>. They have sturdy soles with deep treads to prevent one slipping in the unmentionable substances often found near said mud. This is the kind of footwear favoured by farmers and small children alike for getting utterly filthy whilst keeping one's socks clean.

Sandals

These sandals are little more than a complex arrangement of <style> <material> straps attached to a light wooden sole, encircling the foot in a formidable <colour> web, which extends some way up the leg for extra support. They taper to a pointed toe, slightly curled, and are fastened with <fastening>.

Shoes

This is a pair of sturdy, practical <colour> shoes, made from <style> <material>. They are rather narrow, tapering to a pointy toe, and thick-soled like most workaday Ephebian footwear. They are fastened with <fastening>.
