Newbie-friendly weapons
- This is a list of very effective weapons, easily acquired by newbies.
These weapons have some or all of the following in common:
- They are very inexpensive.
- They are easy to acquire.
- They are easy to use.
Swords
Short sword: Very inexpensive, lightweight, and can be found most anywhere.
Rapier: Functionally the same as a Ruby-hilted rapier or Swept-hilt rapier, but much cheaper. Light weight, easy to use, very effective at parrying.
Heavy-swords
Bastard sword: Can be found at nearly every armoury. They are rather quick but their damage is a bit on the low side.
Battered claymore: Can be found at The Weapon Masters' Court. They are rather quick and have decent damage.
Daggers
Stiletto: Similar to the Elegant stiletto but cheaper. The Stiletto is fast, light and does piercing damage only, for use against those pesky trolls.
Polearms
Old staff: Can be found at wizard stores. They are quick but their damage is a bit on the low side.
Axes
Dwarfish axe: These can only be acquired from dwarves. They are very quick and have decent damage.
Flails
Butcher's chain: These can be found at The Weapon Masters' Court. They are extremely fast but their damage is pretty random.
Maces
Crowbar: Most armouries sell these. They are extremely fast and have decent damage.
Misc weapons
Lancre mint cake: Ironcrust's dwarf bakery at Cable street sells these. They are extremely fast and have decent damage.
Poker: These can be found at the Ramtops. They are very fast and have decent damage.
