Metalworking

Metalworking is a craft activity that can be accomplished in the forge in the temple of Chefet near the south end of Petulia Avenue in Ephebe.

Commands

• forge item from <pattern> using <metal> on <workbench> Forge an item from a pattern book.
  • An example command would be forge item from book using bar on workbench
• sculpt <workpiece> with <files> using <pattern> sculpt forged item with files before polishing
  • An example command would be sculpt pendant with files using book
• polish <workpiece> with <files> polish forged item first with files before using the cloth.
• polish <workpiece or gem> {with|using} <cloth> Polish a gemstone or a forged item with the cloth.

Supplies

You can get supplies by buying them from eagle-eyed shopkeeper (browse from shopkeeper, not from the shop list).

Sample inventory:

• two medium-sized gold bars for &&&&&&&&&&&+4000 S20|80de each.
• three medium-sized bronze bars for &&&&&&&&&&&+1600 S8|32de each.
• three very small gold bars for &&&&&&&&&&&+2000 S10|40de each.
• two very small bronze bars for &&&&&&&&&&&&+800 S4|16de each.
• three tiny platinum bars for &&&&&&&&&&&+8000 S41|64de each.
• two tiny gold bars for &&&&&&&&&&&+1000 S5|20de each.
• three tiny silver bars for &&&&&&&&&&&&+500 S2|58de each.
• two tiny bronze bars for &&&&&&&&&&&&+400 S2|8de each.

Pattern book

You'll need a pattern book like the well-chewed metalworking book available in the metalworking shop just north of the forge.

2. Ceremonial hammer
An expert pattern using a large bar, for a ceremonial hammer to be used in the holy rites of Chefet.

Written in inscribed crosshatching:
A hammer in the shape of a bulldog standing on an Ephebian column.

3. Navel stud
An easy pattern using a very small bar, for a jewelled navel stud.

Written in inscribed crosshatching:
A navel stud with a setting for a large gem.

4. Pendant
A easy pattern using a small bar, for a pendant to show off a particularly prized gem.

Written in inscribed crosshatching:
An elegantly simple pendant with a setting for a large gem.

5. Earring
A medium-difficulty pattern using a tiny bar, for a jewelled earring.

Written in inscribed crosshatching:
An elegantly simple earring with a setting for a tiny gem.

6. Nipple ring
A medium-difficulty pattern using a tiny bar, for a jewelled nipple ring.

7. Dog brooch
A difficult pattern using a small bar, for a faithful hound brooch.

8.Kantharos
A difficult pattern using a medium bar, for a traditional Ephebian drinking vessel.

Written in inscribed crosshatching:
A tall cup in the form of a dog's head with two high-arched handles and six settings for small gems on the foot.
