Mother Brynda's Call of Gravity is an offensive witch spell which causes all items floating in orbit around the target (floaters) as a result of Grammer Scorbic's Household Guard or Endorphin's Floating Friend to fall to the ground. If the target is floating it will also fall to the ground.
This spell can be learned at 20 levels of magic.spells.offensive. It is taught by Granny Weatherwax and Aunty Ogg-San.
This spell has two effects:
- It brings down any items floating around the target.
- If the target themself is floating (as per Finneblaugh's Thaumic Float), it will bring them down too, regardless of the duration of floating they may have built up.
- If the target has a floating shield (for example from Endorphin's Floating Friend), and is also themselves floating (see FTF), the spell can remove both effects simultaneously (ending any duration of FTF, and knocking a shield to the ground, in one).
This spell requires 50 GP to cast, and takes up 20 units of mind space. It may be cast on any living target, including the caster herself; this spell is most commonly used in this fashion to bring one's own shields down for fixing.
The spell is PK-checked for casting at other players.
