As many of the rooms in the guild house will get non-assassins killed if they wander into them, people wishing to join the guild should read the marble slab in the foyer, which gives directions:
Those interested in joining our organisation should speak to Arlen Laureato who can be found in the study on the second floor, directions as follows: north, up, east, up, west, south, east Do not stray from this path or else one of our associates may have 'words' with you. Written in tidy symbols: Assassins, ninja, mano rossarians, hashishim and undecided assassins are currently allowed to enter the restricted areas. Assassins, ninja, mano rossarians, hashishim and undecided assassins are currently allowed to use the shops. Assassins, ninja, mano rossarians and hashishim are currently allowed to view the contract listings. Assassins, ninja, mano rossarians, hashishim and undecided assassins are currently allowed to use the training rooms.
The Mano Rossa guild contains a wide variety of services
- The foyer (Contracts can be placed here)
- The library (Containing a few books and the place for advancing skills)
- The pub
- The conservatory
- A bathroom

Madame Bellus teaches some of the available covert commands to assassins who meet the requirements. Advancement of skills can be done in the library. Primaries can be advanced until level 75 and to level 300 after taking the Oath.
Once Mano Rossa are guild level 50 they can demonstrate to Arlen Laureato that they are ready for player killing by taking the Oath.
You read the copy of the cartello of the Mano Rossa: Written in ornately printed letters: Welcome to the esteemed organisation of the Mano Rossa. The "Red Hands" is a byproduct of the mildly organised criminal underworld that arose out of the infamous coffee prohibition of Genuan lore. As such, the Mano Rossa obligates its members, foreign and domestic, and implores upon them the following: 1. No blood on the carpet (or the lawn, see?) 2. Under no circumstances should you attack or assist in the attack of a fellow Mano Rossarian. Send any complaints up the line, capiche? 3. Respect the sovereignty of all foreign specialisations and the administrative decisions that they, well, administer. This of course includes our head-removing associates dwelling west of Djelibeybi, our lethal-handed comrades of Bes Pelargic, and our backstabbing brethren that call Ankh-Morpork their home. If you have issues with one or more of these rules or seek an audience with a Mano Rossarian agent, then please contact the Don himself via tell or mudmail.
Nicknames can be acquired from Arlen Laureato after taking the Oath. The following post-titles appear automatically depending on your guild-level.
|225-249||Touch of Ice|
|275-299||Whisper of Death|
|425-449||End of Dreams|
|450-474||Kiss of Death|
In addition to the titles above, Arlen will provide members with nicknames as they progress through the guild. These will appear either in-between one's name and family name (example: “Kimya ‘No Mercy’ Cutting”) or, if you there is no family name, directly after their name (example: “Monette 'No Mercy'” ).
You say: I want a new title please. Arlen Laureato says: Ze Maneaux Hrossa have, how can I put it... zemed titles, if you will. Equipment shop and custom throwing hatchets
In the northern part of Genua, there is an equipment shop for the Mano Rossa. While anyone can get into it, only assassins can buy items there. The entrance is not immediately obvious however and can be slightly dangerous as well.
The storekeeper, Timothee, is also a custom outfitter, capable of making a large variety of custom throwing axes.
These commands are exclusive to assassins.
* These commands are also shared with the Thieves' Guild.
These are the primary skills for the Mano Rossa:
Like all assassin guilds, a unique list of NPC contracts can be placed and viewed here. NPC contracts can be closed by anyone with the inhume command.
The Mano Rossa use business cards to keep a record of all and any hits carried out. If the card is lost it can be replaced by asking Arlen Laureato.
The leader of the Mano Rossa is the Don. The Don must have taken the Oath and be over 25 days old to qualify for this position. Mano Rossa must have taken the Oath and be over 5 days old to vote for the Don.
The Don of the Mano Rossa can appoint two Tenentes. Tenentes support the Don and can place warning contracts on members of their own specialisation and limit access to the book for a lesser period of time.

- Although for the brave non-assassin, every enterable room except for the clothes shop is probably safe, but it may still be risky to stick around, anyway.
