Description
This ritual causes the target to become clumsy and unhold one or both of their held items - this includes held shields as well as weapons. For the duration of the ritual, they won't be able to effectively hold anything (if they try, they'll fumble the items again after a few seconds) and will have a line added to their description:
He appears befuddled.
They'll also have a penalty applied to their dex and str stats. Success seems to always make the target attack you (except when performed on another player). Can be useful to avoid nasty specials in combat with the target, though many npcs have very good unarmed skills. This ritual also fares quite well in the PK world and although being costly can sway the fight nicely. The duration seems to be capped at around 30 seconds if performed on a PK; longer durations are possible on npcs or when an npc performs on you.
When the ritual wears off, npcs re-equip the fumbled items.
You get a message when it wears off:
You feel your sudden fit of clumsiness pass.
Resistance
- Fighting.unarmed.grappling is used to resist Fumble.
Ward Effect
When imbued as a ward, this ritual can cause the thief to drop either the stolen item or their weapons.
Example
> perform fumble on Pinkfish You say a prayer over Pinkfish. Pinkfish is clumsy. Pinkfish juggles around with a bastard sword, but she can't hold on to it.
