Dwarfish goggles are special eye armour that protect the eyes from bright lights.
In these goggles, two octagonal, violet-clear crystals are crimped in place by a frame of stiff leather, which is then worn on the face with a leather strap which buckles behind the head. They are rather funny-looking things, but among the dwarfs, they are quite popular, as they protect your eyes while mining.
There seems to be an odd, octarine tint in addition to the violet one...
The last line is only visible to those who can see octarine.
The pair of dwarfish goggles is four inches long and about six inches wide. It is made of leather and could be worn as armour.
Effects on vision
While wearing the goggles you can see in rooms that are otherwise too bright to see in.
Bright flashes of light or looking into bright lights won't make you blind either.
It also lowers adventuring.perception by 10%, i.e. bonus with goggles = floor(bonus * 0.9).
Found on dwarfish miner wandering Ankh-Morpork, often in the dwarf district southwest of the Isle of Gods.
