Customization
There are a lot of customization you can do on Discworld.
Contents
Characters
You can set your description with the describe command.
You can gain and set titles
You can set a supplemental custom title (visible with who verbose) with a title changer.
While carried, a small compact allows changing the first line describing you.
Several different things add description lines visible when people look at you, such as tattoos, cosmetics, your position, your inventory, flowers braided into your hair and a great many other things.
Should you ever lose your nose, you can get prosthetic noses, including custom ones, from a nosy witch, the proprietoress of Who Nose.
Should you wish to change your character's gender, you can change gender. If you're a witch it won't work.

Customizing items
Items can be changed by using them, you can cut bits from corpses, some items can be cut and/or partly eaten, you can enchant items, you can sprinkle powder over items...
There are also Crafts which allow customizing or creating items, notably Finesmithing.
- See Crafts for a list.
Delusion
Items that are not already talisman can be deluded to change their visible name or gain new adjectives.
See Delusions of Grandeur for more information.
Customizing rooms
Every location on the mud an be referred to as a room.
There are some limited ways in which you can influence regular rooms. After some variable time (much faster in the terrains) without a player, a npc or a corpse in the room, it will unload and all changes will be lost.
- You can change real estate more directly (see below).
- You can sprinkle powder over them.
- By attacking and other means you can move npcs.
- You can accumulate corpses or other items in a room. Other people can bury all that easily, except in player properties.
- Casting spells, recharging artifacts or smashing thaum bombs will increase the dynamic room enchantment.
- The Octograve command creates a temporary octogram in the room. This is a requirement to cast some spells.
- The Circle command creates a temporary circle in the room. Inside is a temporary room to amplify and contain room enchantment, which naturally dissipates when the circle fades.
- The Patient Taming of the Quantum Weather Butterfly spell cast warm or cool the room's temperature.
- The Kipperwald's Perlustration Prevention spell prevents scrying a room.
- The Profound Darkness ritual causes the room to darken, making it harder to see without light sources.
- You can add light sources, up to the point that it is too bright to see, dwarfish goggles can help in too bright rooms.
Real estate (player properties)
First you need to acquire Real estate, which come as player housing, player shops, or club housing.
You can also place up to furniture pieces per room, some of which can be painted too.
- The mounting plaque allows showing an item which is not furniture.
You can decorate surfaces either with contractor npcs (see below) or by painting or stencilling.
- See Real estate decoration for more information.
