Crystal sphere

Crystal spheres are special rooms created by the rituals Stasis, Great Stasis, and Holy Sanctuary.

Features

From inside, the sphere looks like this:

This is the inside of a solid crystal sphere, the role of which is to keep its occupant isolated from road for as long as possible.  You could disintegrate the sphere, if you wanted to get out.
There are no obvious exits.

This is the inside of a solid crystal sphere, the role of which is to keep its occupant isolated from the side chapel of the cathedral of Gufnork for as long as possible.  If you had a strong enough weapon, you could probably shatter the walls.
There are no obvious exits.

(A Stasis sphere)

The sphere separates you from the room and everyone in it[1]. While inside the sphere, you won't be able to see anything that's happening in the room outside. You cannot passage out of the sphere.

A crystal sphere counts as an indoor room.

In the room outside, people will be able to see a crystal sphere on the ground.

Exiting

If the sphere is from the Holy Sanctuary ritual, you may "disintegrate" it to get out.

If the sphere is from Stasis or Great Stasis, you may try to "shatter" the sphere with a weapon or with your fist. This uses adventuring.perception (to spot a flaw in the sphere). If unsuccessful, you can damage your weapon (or hurt yourself), or end up temporarily blinded.

  • Blunt weapons like maces or polearms seem to easily shatter the sphere, while weapons with sharp and pierce attacks seem to only get damaged.
  • Using your fist did not seem very effective either.

Either type of sphere will fade away after a short period.

When you exit the sphere by any means, you'll be back in the same room you were in before.

  1. Usually. Some specific npcs can follow you into a sphere. These include some pets (Sto Lat dogs will quietly appear magically in your room if you take an exit that they can't follow you through directly), some or all minions (totems and dust devils at least), and the cuttlefish.
