Black Caya HikosaSan says, "also...

Please thank Nattick, Grin, Geryon, Staria and the AM Daily, citizens of Djelibeybi, Fole and the Illuminated Teapot, and Ixtlan of the Tanglefoot Trading Company for the lovely monetary donations!

Also thank Nut, Frazyl, and Dextar for donating some prizes, too! Without them... I would probably be in a bigger mess than I am now :p"

Performances

The performances presented at the trials are recorded here per category in the order presented at the trials.

Mocking competition

Every witch was invited to perform up to two mocks which would inspire the mocked to greater efforts.

Please be advised that some minor details of these performances have been touched up by specially trained imps to correct the imperfections introduced by the auditors of reality.

Almarna's godbothering mock

Elementalist Almarna Tiaam squints critically at Minister Adyton Veridicus.

Elementalist Almarna Tiaam puts the evil eye on Minister Adyton Veridicus.

Elementalist Almarna Tiaam loudly says: You call that godbothering, Adyton? You call yourselves Godbotherers? I'm surprised we are not standing in the middle of a thunderstorm right now, with lighting coming down left, right and center! That is not godbothering. It's much more likely to offend the gods! You really have to be more devout and reverential if you don't want to end up as a smoking pile.

Minister Adyton Veridicus looks determined to try harder.

Dirka's watching mock (tied 1st after Granny)

Dirka squints critically at Black Caya HikosaSan.

Dirka puts the evil eye on Black Caya HikosaSan.

Dirka loudly exclaims with a D'reg accent: You call that watching, Caya? That is not watching. Our Sssld watches things very carefully, unlike you. You may as well blunder around with your eyes closed for all the watching you did. Sergeant Detritus could be in front of you pounding you with his giant rocky fists and you wouldn't even notice because you are that bad at watching!

Black Caya HikosaSan looks determined to try harder.

Dirka's dodging mock

Dirka loudly exclaims with a D'reg accent: You call that dodging, Caya? That's about as dodgy as Nanny Ogg trying to dodge a pint of scumble! That's getting right in the way of sharp things that is! You're supposed to dodge out of the way you daft bugger!

Black Caya HikosaSan looks determined to try harder.

Frazyl's watching mock (tied 1st after Granny)

Literate Frazyl squints critically at Unlucky Charlie.

Literate Frazyl puts the evil eye on Unlucky Charlie.

Literate Frazyl loudly exclaims: You call that watching, Unlucky Charlie? That watching is just awful. What, you think you're all safe and sound standing there like a blind bug about to be squished by a giant hand? You can't even begin to see the fangs of the tiny invisible demons making two thirds of the people in Howondaland die horribly from internal injury, and that's only halfway across the disc! Why, even Susan Sto Helit would right now have finished a long while ago counting the spots on their impossibly sharp claws (861 756 159 158 billions) and gotten a good way through beating the invasion by the Auditors of Reality! Awww, don't cry Charlie, it'll only make your sight worse. Alright, I'll give you a hint: keep your eyes open and ooooo watch out for that huge hand-shaped thing heading right for you!

Unlucky Charlie looks determined to try harder.

Frazyl's abjuring mock (2nd after Granny)

Literate Frazyl loudly asks: You call that abjuring, Unlucky Charlie? Are you trying to *help* me curse you? No? Are you sure? Then make your abjuring do a better job protecting you! I know that's a lot to ask but if you let anyone just waltz through you with impunity you'll be scryed, charmed, burned, choked, animated, convoked, bound, enchanted, evoked, earthed, banished, channelled, soaked, summoned, cursed and more before you know what hit you! Why, even Rincewind was better than you at abjuring and the only way he managed to survive so long is to constantly run away from anything and everything and you know how mangy and miserable that left him? Do you really want to endure that too or do you think you can bear to work a *little* bit on yourself?

Unlucky Charlie looks determined to try harder.

Tricks freestyle 1-2 stages

This category allows witches to submit short tricks for all to see.

The shorter trick length allows wet hennes to enter more easily without being outstaged.

Magdalena's My Storm Dragon (2nd after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Magdalena whistles a strange melodic dirge, each note hanging in the electric air.
Magdalena holds out her hand as an enchanting blue dragon dives from the sky and shoots by her, lightning bolts crackling from her fingertips to his body.
She smiles, electricity crackling in her eyes.

Dirka's Huggly Kittens (3rd after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Dirka watches as cute fuzzy spangly kittens wobble into the area, drinking freshly brewed beer, and huggle everybody lovingly.
Dirka applauds the kittens for their delightful spangly huggly performance.

Qiuyan's Brew A Plot (1st after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

As Qiuyan waves her hands, a tiny stage appears in the air! Three witches pop into existence; a thunderstorm brews around them. They look drenched. Silly witches! Meanwhile, a general hatches a plot to kill the king.
Qiuyan waves her hands about. The witches meet again, waving strange ingredients they intend to brew. Crazy hags! The king is murdered; the general reigns; the kingdom descends into darkness, tormented by guilt and suspicion!
Qiuyan's hands move even faster! The scenes flash by: armies gather; a forest besieges a castle; battle ensues! The evil general is killed! Peace is restored; the witches look glum. The actors take a bow. The tiny stage fades into nothingness. Phew!

Tricks freestyle 3+ stages

Nefret's Storm In A Teacup (1st after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Nefret the Scottish clicks her fingers and summons a frightened looking wette henne to bring her a cup of tea.
Nefret the Scottish takes the tea cup and, grumbling about the lack of biscuits, enchants the tea within.
The tea starts to go cloudy as Nefret the Scottish binds it to her will.
Cackling with glee, Nefret the Scottish brews a storm in a tea cup.
The storm rises up, hovers above the wette henne and sends out a tiny bolt of lightning to singe one of her eyebrows.

Nut's Frothy Nonsense

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Nut produces a basin filled with sugar lumps and busily begins to crush the sugar into a powder, chanting a mystical rhyme about someone called Delia.
Nut gets an egg from her hat, then cracks it into the sugar basin and whisks it firmly, binding the sugar into its foamy matrix.
Nut waves her free hand about with fixed concentration, heating up the air and funnelling it into the basin. All of a sudden, the basin explodes!
Slightly embarrassedly, Nut picks the pieces of meringue out of her hair. Perhaps the more traditional method would work better.

Almarna's The summoning Of A Carriage (tied 2nd after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Almarna Tiaam taps her foot impatiently, looking out for the carriage as if she wants to summon it.
Almarna Tiaam gets out a pipe, fills it with tobacco, stares at a match until it catches fire and lights the pipe.
Almarna Tiaam paffs once or twice on her pipe, channeling the smoke through it.
Suddenly the carriage screeches to a halt in front of Almarna. She looks smug, extinguishes her pipe and boards the carriage.

Elspeth's Dull Day

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Elspeth the Scottish waves her finger in the air.
Elspeth the Scottish animatedly runs her fingers through her hair.
Elspeth the Scottish brews the tea for a henne or three.
Elspeth the Scottish scries some players and flies away.
That is Elspeth's dull life for today.

Frazyl's Shadows of Bright Chaos and Dark Order

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

As Frazyl starts to chant an odd melody that contrasts loud sharp notes against soft and appeasing but clear tones the light all around seems to sharply focus into piercing lines of radiant white and pools of pure blackness.
Keeping the melody going, Frazyl starts dancing with movements sometimes fast and erratic and sometimes languid but precise. The light and darkness focus and separate more and more until they each cover half of your world.
You see an enchanting world passing in front of your eyes, showing vast deserts, ruins of old towers and an immense forest encroaching on remains of civilizations. In the background you seem to hear very faintly Frazyl's voice saying: Cyad of old.
The vision of the world moves toward a vast mountain range, zooming on a large castle with one huge tower conjuring up images of the black of space and time. Then Frazyl gestures and the vision moves fast toward a huge fish-shaped island.
Frazyl starts to twirl and the world suddenly spins backwards and in the whirlwind of changing perspective you see the land you were above is a continent soon joined by a bigger one looking like a rhino and two smaller ones in the watery ocean.
There is a bright white flash coming from Unlucky Charlie. Unlucky Charlie seems caught in a web of lights tightly bound in black threads. As Unlucky Charlie watches, Unlucky Charlie gets pulled deeper into the web until Unlucky Charlie disappears, perhaps never to be seen again.

You squint at charlie.

Unlucky Charlie fidgets uncomfortably.

Unlucky Charlie finally tells you: This is what I saw:

Mothergoose's Storytime Ii

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

MotherGoose summons the courage to tell the tale of Little Tommy, 'Ding, dong, bell, Pussy's in the well! Who put her in? Little Tommy Lin.'
The smell of hot rolls is conjured up as MotherGoose recites, 'Hot-cross Buns! Hot cross Buns! One a penny, two a penny, Hot-cross Buns!'
MotherGoose closes with a tale of brewing, 'Polly, put the kettle on, Polly, put the kettle on, Polly, put the kettle on, And let's drink tea.
MotherGoose closes the book gently, stands and takes a bow.

Wysk's Wyskbuggery

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Wysk begins an alluring and charming escapade. She waggles her hips from side to side while shuffling her feet underneath her.
Wysk performs a delightful spin with her arms clutched to her chest. Upon turning, she stretches her arms summoning a swarm tiny imps.
With arms outreached, Wysk begins another spin. Faster this time. She spins faster and faster. The imps seem to bind to her, grabbing invisible threads attached to her cloak.
The imps, almost effortlessly, lift Wysk's bulk off the ground and she shoots up into the sky. Her image dissapears amongst a cloud. A minute passes before watching her land atop her broom.

Phujuu's Biddy Laurel's Critter Courtier (tied 2nd after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Phujuu holds her arms up and stands perfectly still, doing her best impression of a tree rooted in the earth.
A blue jay flying through the air stops to rest on Phujuu's hat, and she reaches slowly toward it while trying not to startle it.
Phujuu coos charmingly at the bird while she carefully ties a sheet of cheap writing paper to its leg. Phujuu's eyes then go blank for a few seconds, before the bird flies off into the sky.
From high in the air, a blue jay bearing a message sent by Phujuu flies down and lands in front of Unlucky Charlie, looking at him expectantly.

You squint at charlie.

Unlucky Charlie fidgets uncomfortably.

Unlucky Charlie finally tells you: This is what I saw:

Phujuu holds her arms up and stands perfectly still, doing her best impression of a tree rooted in the earth.

You remove a sheet of cheap writing paper from the bird's leg, and the blue jay flies off to resume its birdly duties.

Almarna's A Valentine's Stroll (1st after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Elementalist Almarna Tiaam tells you to close your eyes. You get the strangest sensation, as if a force is lifting you up, floating you through the air. Keeping your eyes firmly shut, you wonder where this journey may lead you.
Elementalist Almarna Tiaam whispers that it is safe to open your eyes again. You gasp in astonishment when you realise you are hovering above a lake. Its waters are of a deep blue, and sunlight reflects off the waves, painting ever changing golden patterns in the blue.
Elementalist Almarna Tiaam points towards the back of the lake where a channel seems to lead through a gap between two mountains. Slightly alarmed, you notice the two of you floating towards the shore.
Elementalist Almarna Tiaam steps onto the wet earth of the lake shore, nodding to you to do the same. She walks with you along a path, that leads to a clearing surrounded by birches. Their leaves are fluttering in a light breeze.
Elementalist Almarna Tiaam settles down next to some dried wood in a ring of stone. As you sit down next to her, she makes some strange hand movements over it and a fire begins to crackle merrily, spreading warmth.
You stare at the fire in surprise when the flames suddenly spell out your name and wish you a happy Valentine.

Sesheta's Arrow and Beau (2nd after Granny)

You gaze into the crystal ball and see:

Sesheta the cute fluffy sheep takes out an arrow, from her current beau, she checks all the charms and then she lets go.

Witch Trials 2010! There's still time!

Note #20 by Caya at Sun Feb 21 22:24:51 2010 [EST] on board witchesguild

Wotchers all! This is a repost since it is near scrolling off! This also includes the update about mocks! This is not limited to only skilled witches! Newbies can also participate!
Witch Trials are set for Saturday, February 27 at 21:00 GMT! They will be held in Lancre Town where Charlie hangs in his lonesome (awww). Here are the time conversions for some time zones:
Pacific time (ex: California) - 13:00 or 1:00PM on Saturday, Feb 27, 2010
EST (ex: New York, New Jersey) - 16:00 or 4:00PM on Saturday, Feb 27, 2010
GMT (ex: London) - 21:00 or 9:00PM on Saturday, Feb 27, 2010
Sydney, Australia - 8:00AM on Sunday, Feb 28, 2010
So! If you have an entry, please mudmail me by the 22th confirming you want to make something (give specific details of categories) and the 26th for the name of the trick/fruitbat and skill for mock with the rest of the details needed (see below). I can take last minute entries, but please don't force me to do so many last minute ones. :(
We have many amazing sponsors that I huggle lots and lots for not making me empty my bank account!
This year's trials will be somewhat different from the previous trials. We will have 3 competitions!

Tricks (only 1 freestyle trick and 1 themed trick max!)

Freestyle 1-2 stages
Freestyle 3+ stages
Theme (any amount of stages)
---This year's theme is: Valentine's Day

Mocking Competition (2 mock submissions max!)

Freestyle (there were not enough submissions, so I changed the category)
Only rule is that you need to mock a valid skill. You can't just mock something like Caya-ing or something.

Best-Dressed Fruitbat

There are no categories and it will be freestyle. Even though it says best-dressed, it can also be what they are carrying, their name, etc. It is possible that a person will vote based on everything they see!
I am aware there are witches who believe in only having naked bats, but it is all for good fun! You can even submit your naked bat if you want! We shall just have a competition where people will vote for the bat they like the most (traditionalists can vote on traditional nakedness)!

Your name, the competition you are entering, and, depending on the competition:
Tricks: name of the trick, what category you are entering in, summary of what your trick is about
Mocks: what category, what skill you are mocking
Fruitbat: name of fruitbat
There may be changes in the competition due to how many we have that participates this year. Please stay tuned for updates! If this gives you any motivation, the plan is that first place will get at least 10 royals IN ADDITION to an item of choice! We will go by order of who wins to get the prizes. Also, applicants will still get a reward if they do not win!
