Horseman's:
Despite this hammer's weight, designed to lend crushing force to a cavalryman's blow, it almost soars in the hand. The <head material> striking face is perfectly flat, and the <shape> neck leads back to flat shield-shaped sides and a spiked finial. At the back, a <counterbalance> counterbalances the hammer head perfectly, and two studded straps of <head material> protect the top of the <haft material> haft when parrying a blow.
Footman's:
Despite this hammer's hefty weight, designed to crush shields and crumple armour, it almost soars in the hand. The <descriptive name> war hammer is about two feet long and nine inches wide. It is made of <material> and could be used as a weapon of type mace.
Acquisition
May be ordered from Rowena McClannachy at the Lancre Highland Regiment, in Lancre Town on the eastern side in the warriors guild smithy, by saying 'order' to her in Morporkian.
Price
The following hammer costs LSov 4|2: footman's light silver round spike oak
Haft material and neck shape do not appear to have any effect on the price, but were only tested on this hammer. The heavy version costs LSov 6|-|6 and the horseman's is LSov 2|11. The curved spike is the same price, but the ornate knob made it LSov 4|7|7 and the plain knob made it LSov 3|9. The bronze price is LSov 1|6|6, and the black iron price is LSov 2|3|6.
