I don't really get the keys on those graphs, Chat - what do the percentages refer to? --Beale (t|c) 21:45, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Bugger - should have made that clearer :( The percentages are your bonus as a fraction of the teacher's ETB. So, learning from a teacher with ETB 400 when your bonus is 300 would be 75%. --Chat 22:20, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

The bit about the return for command xp looks outdated (the part about how the xp reward gets reduced)--my readings don't seem to match up with it. Not sure exactly which bits may still be right, though, so I'm a little reluctant to just delete. --Ilde 23:59, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Burial xp

The bit I added is from testing... when I buried the corpses of a couple of poor beggars my friend killed (while not grouped with him, and without fighting the beggars at all), he got 350-400 xp from the burial. When he buried a corpse of one, he got about 700 xp. This was a short and casual test, though, so finding the specific rule would probably need more research. --Ilde 23:19, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Max carried xp

It's been discussed before that there's a maximum of xp you can have on you without spending it before it stops increasing.

I think it's been increased from 10 million xp (that figure is in several newspaper articles) to 30 million xp, but I can't find a source for the 30 million xp for confirmation. --Frazyl 03:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I think it was in a news post when achievements came in. Something about it being so that people getting a bunch of xp from ach legacy wouldn't hit the limit? --Ilde 04:31, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I can confirm from experience that the maximum xp is currently 30 million. Any earned xp that would cause you to exceed this limit is completely ignored, e.g. if you are on 29,999,950xp and kill an npc worth more than 50xp your xp total will not increase at all. Majir 12:11, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Xp thresholds

A post by Telira on the boards mentions that heartbeat xp and command xp are reduced when your rate of xp earning is above some xp/hour limits. --Frazyl 03:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

When you're earning above about 550k/h, you get a 15% penalty to xp earned (well, it's 15% penalty to command xp, I'm assuming it's the same for kill/bury xp) and your heartbeat xp rate drops from 3 to 2.

When you're earning about 750k/h, the penalty increases to 30% and your heartbeat xp rate drops from 2 to 1.

Apparently there's another penalty around 1 mil per hour but I haven't seen it. Yet. ;)

I just call it a cap because it caps how fast you can make make xp, there's probably a better word for it.

I've done some research on this, there is only a single threshold of 500kxp earned in the previous hour, at which point xp reduction starts. As your previous hour's rate increases the reduction also increases. At some point I'll move the research to the wiki but for now see http://majir.mine.nu/xp.html Majir 12:17, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Unique npcs

After killing a bunch of unique npcs (ones who however do not perform any guild, quest, shop-related, or other function that I know of), I feel I can say that unique npcs DO give xp as normal. I'm not saying there might not be npcs who don't give kill xp, but if so, the criteria is something other than them being unique/named. --Ilde 21:50, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
