My information here is based on some very old data - I'd be grateful if anyone can verify whether it's still correct. --Chat 19:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I think so. At least, it's correct to what I know, although I haven't tested it recently. Can't you also cure a cold by just warming up?? --Aell 19:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

You can cure a cold by 'simply' warming up, in a smithy for example. I would recommend other ways though, since it takes a long (!) time to take effect, and the last time I tried it I succeeded in trading my cold for a heatstroke! --Sacrificulus 19:54, 19th January 2011

The cold does go away by itself after a while, but that "while" is very long—I spent most of an hour (RW time) standing in the Sekkite room of the priests' tower in Bes Pelargic (where the temperature is "incredibly, unbelievably hot", i.e. potentially lethal). The heat also reverses the strength stat debuff, although only for as long as you stay warm/hot. I'm not sure what the exact requirements are, because my strength still went down occasionally while "rather warm", but returned after raising my temperature again to "very hot".
