The squirming black tentacle can be used as an unarmed fighting aid.

Long Description

This foot-long tentacle has, presumably, been cut off some large, tentacled creature. Somehow, it seems to still be alive. Two rows of suckers run along its slick midnight black skin from the pointy tip down to the severed end.

Writhing octarine light spills from it, barely contained by its physical boundaries.

Weight

The squirming black tentacle weighs 5/9 lb.

Appraise

The squirming black tentacle is about a foot long and roughly a couple of inches wide. It is made of slick black flesh and looks like you could hold it. It is in excellent condition.

Slick Black Flesh Material

The squirming black tentacle is made of a material called 'slick black flesh'. It is non-metallic and thus cannot be engraved.

Holding

When a player holds the squirming black tentacle the player will get this message:

You hold a squirming black tentacle in your left hand.
As you grasp the squirming black tentacle, it erupts into a mass of slick black flesh that wraps around your whole left arm up to the shoulder, turning it into a huge tentacle.  You don't think you can hold anything with that arm now, but it might be useful in combat...

After this, the holding arm and the squirming black tentacle will be removed and a line in the player's description will be added:

His left arm has been replaced with a huge black tentacle.

Training

The huge black tentacle, once manifest, seems to gain power from the first 10 kills after it has appeared. Items/weapons can be held in a free hand but tactics options should be set that the tentacle is able to attack otherwise it will not charge.

Some (possibly all) the tentacle reactions are:

Your black tentacle absorbs some power from the victory.
Your black tentacle perks up, looking a little stronger from the kill.
Your black tentacle absorbs some power from the kill.
Your black tentacle perks up, looking more powerful from the victory.
Your black tentacle seems to be invigorated from the fight.
Your black tentacle absorbs some power from the fight.
Your black tentacle perks up, looking a little stronger from the fight.

Removing

There are two ways to remove the tentacle. The first way is to simply wait as the squirming black tentacle will remove itself with time and the player's arm will return. This can take around an hour. The message when it reverts is:

The black flesh withdraws rapidly down your arm and contracts back into a squirming black tentacle.

The second way, if immediate removal is necessary, is to cut the tentacle off with sharp weapon (a knife works).

This will return the player's arm, but turn the squirming black tentacle into a dry black tentacle. When the tentacle is not in the squirming black tentacle form, it will not turn the player's arm into a huge black tentacle when held. It will need to be placed in water (or the player will need to be in water if carried). Gradually, after exposure to water and over time, the dry black tentacle will become a moist black tentacle, followed by a twitching black tentacle and then finally, a squirming black tentacle again.

Notes

When the player has held the item and has gained a huge black tentacle it can be used to fight with using unarmed striking. It has various unique blunt attacks and offers increased unarmed damage.
