Student Application

You say: student
Arwin Schneider says with a Genuan accent: If you're not a student here you can expect to be expelled from the classrooms. We are an educational establishment, not a drop-in clinic. Some people have found it useful to make donations though.
You ask: How can I make a donation?
Arwin Schneider asks with a Genuan accent: Mmm... a modest donation... say, ten livres? That's usually enough to get you a few hours of prime education, eh?
You offer to give 10 Genuan livres to Arwin Schneider.
Arwin Schneider exclaims with a Genuan accent: Say, thanks for the monies!
You give 10 Genuan livres to Arwin Schneider.
Arwin Schneider says with a Genuan accent: Your donation is most generous! We shall do our best to accomodate you within the academy for the next few hours. Do enjoy yourself.

Turpentine Pots Research

Pots of paint and turpentine can be searched up in the Janitor's Office.

[janitor's office]
The janitor's office here is stocked full of old bits of cloth, deflated tyres and pots of foul-smelling paints and varieties of turpentine. A bucket standing in the corner of the room contains a moth-eaten mop leaning against the wall. Another bucket hanging behind the door contains a large amount of sawdust, just perfect for covering the overexcited outpourings of students at play.
There is one obvious exit: southwest.
A grubby schoolboy is standing here.
> l turpentine
The pots are coated around the rim with their contents, the substances crusting over the edge. The inside of the pots remain moderately fluid, although there are occasional gloops and bubbles within the mixture that lend a somewhat alchemical appearance to the whole room.
> sea pots
You start to search around.
You rummage through the jars and manage to find one that looks relatively clean.
Carrying: a crusty pot
> open pot
You open the crusty pot.
> l pot
This small pot looks like it's stored at least a dozen different colours of paint without ever having been cleaned out. It's a miracle that its lid still comes off.
It is in excellent condition.
The crusty pot is completely full with two ounces of brownish green paint.
It is completely full.
It is open.

Pot Contents

After about 60 searches these were all the colours I ever found:

  • mayonnaise beige paint
  • dirty mustard yellow paint
  • rust red paint
  • brownish green paint
  • greenish brown paint
  • searing magenta paint
  • turpentine

Odds of Getting Turpentine

With equal odds that would be 1 in 7.

In a single session of serches, out of 47 searches I got at least 4 of every color except beige (only 2) and got 6 pots of turpentine. 47/6 = 7.833333

Another couple searches brought up a 3rd beige tin but a hitman showed up before I could do a 53rd search.

Based on my experience I think the turpentine is truly random and not capped. Just needs a lot of patience for 1 tablespoon per pot.
