There definitely seems to be some variation, in both weight reduction and duration. Casting it a second time on the hauberk (after the first cast ran out) with the same character, with only a 1 point difference in bonus, seemed to get significantly better results.

Currently appears to break wands. Camelion reported breaks on Balsa wand & small stick. Exoth broke oak wand & non-magical wand.
According to research done by Pokey and shared on the Warriors boards, GFR appears to reduce weapon damage by 25% (base damage * 0.75), with no affect on special damage. Venia (talk)
