GP cost

When you don't have enough gp to cast a spell it tells you how much you need:

You can't concentrate well enough to cast Gammer Tumult's Amalgamator; it would cost you 45 guild points.

Spell size

The size of the spell in Head space is 5 times the thaums produced, thus 20 units.

You read the thaumometer:
The background magic level in this area appears to be normal.
You prepare to cast Gammer Tumult's Amalgamator on two club badges.
You chat a bit to your badges, attempting to visualise their inner significance.
You mentally align the badges with each other, attempting to get them to cooperate and work as one.
Without the badges noticing, you abruptly force them to stay that way.
The badges tremble between your palms. Suddenly they go very hot, and a tiny wisp of smoke curls between your fingers. Opening your hands, you find a single badge between them.
You read the thaumometer:
The background magic level appears to be four thaums above normal.
