Poisoned apples are bright red apples which are poisonous.
Acquisition
Poisoned apples can be found in a basket in the kitchen of the Gingerbread cottage.
Application
Particularly unobservant players may accidentally eat a poisoned apple, however, the usual cause of poisoned apple consumption is by a witch forcing someone to eat one using the tempt command.
Effects
Poisioned apples take up to a minute to have an effect. They then cause:
- A loss of 5 points of constitution.
- A loss of 2 points of dexterity.
- Loss of hit pointsresearch at irregular intervals.
- Vomiting and sweating, which can bring a player out of hiding.
Note that, although they do hit point damage, poisoned apples are incapable of killing a player outright; they will instead bring them down to at worst 1 hp.
Recovery
The poison eventually wears off, after a time period dependent on how much of the apple (or how many apples) was eatenresearch. Alternately, a player can drink antivenom to cure themself immediately.
