A good kill alias should keep you from attacking playerkillers, NPCs that will get you killed or losing inventory such as cats, priests and contractor NPCs in Djelibeybi, hags in Bes Pelargic, stone palms in the Oasis, as well as contractable NPCs and quest NPCs.
The first thing to decide when writing a kill alias is whether it should be exclusive (
kill all except ...) or inclusive (
kill cockroaches & beggars & ...). Then it's important to consider what not to attack or what to attack. Even if you decide to use an inclusive list you might have to exclude some things if you can't refer to some types of NPC without referring to others you don't want to target.
Bear in mind that you may create many aliases for different situations and locations, so long as you don't get confused and use the wrong one. Sensible naming is important for this.

&at the end of the alias allows you to add more exclusions on a one-off basis, eg in a room you may type
kk dregsto kill all per the alias and also exclude the D’regs in the room.
