Hilly mountain ranges are found to the southwest of Ankh-Morpork (the Morpork Mountains) and far to the east of Ankh-Morpork (the Carrack Mountains).

Names

The short description of the room is "hilly mountain range".

On the map, it is referred to as "mountains".

In the part of the long description of a terrain room that describes which terrains are nearby, it shows up as "a range of rolling mountainous hills" when seen from the same terrain, and "a range of rolling mountainous hills" or the specific name of the mountain range when seen from a different terrain.

Climate

In the winter, temperatures range from at least ___ to ___ at night, and ___ to ___ during the day. The weather is ___.

In the spring, temperatures range from at least ___ to ___ at night, and ___ to ___ during the day. The weather is ___.

In the summer, temperatures range from at least freezing cold to damn cold at night, and very chilly to cold during the day. The weather is ___.

In the autumn, temperatures range from at least damn cold to freezing cold at night, and very chilly to freezing cold during the day. The weather is often cloudy, sometimes with sleet or light to driving snow.

Npcs

The following npcs are found in this terrain:

Of those, ___ are always aggressive, adult bears are sometimes aggressive (and can be whether or not there are cubs around), and ___ pursue. Adventurous bear cubs may appear to be alone, but there is generally an adult nearby.

Birds are strictly diurnal and disappear during the night.

Harvests

You can gather mushrooms here. You can also get rocks here.

Adjoining terrains

For the most part, they are surrounded by plains. The Morpork Mountains also have cabbage fields on their northeast edge, as do the Carrack Mountains all along their west edge. The Carrack Mountains join Skund Forest to the south, and the Ankh River goes through them, more or less bisecting them horizontally.

Special features

This type of terrain is only barely mountainous. That is to say, you can't journey through it, but climbing is not required to move between rooms, and the map command gives you a full map instead of the partial one you get in higher mountains.
