Elusive Ron who wanders around the Thieves' Guild in Ankh-Morpork provides various Thieves' Guild licences that look different, depending on the guild level of the requesting thief. A certain period of time has to pass before he will hand out another licence. research If this has been marked on a page, it's because there was something that probably isn't known, that the person who edited the page thinks could be found out. Perhaps you could figure this thing out, and be famous evermore.
In November 2009 wearable licences were introduced [1]. These can be requested with "I'd like a special necklace (or badge) licence please".
When returning from a leave of absence Kordane does not return the original licence, but the standard one with ratty cardboard covers.
Wearable | Level | Description | Wearable Badge Suffix | Wearable Necklace Suffix |
---|---|---|---|---|
No | 0-56 | This licence is actually a small notebook with ratty cardboard covers. The front cover has been stamped with the official seal of the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Thieves. | N/A | N/A |
No | 65-124 | A poorly embroidered patch (possibly the handiwork of a well meaning but sadly untalented relative) marking this notebook as an official licence of the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Thieves, has been stuck on with the same tar used to harden the black cotton cover. While quite attractive-looking from afar, the book has an unfortunate tendency to get quite sticky in warm weather, or when worn close to the body. | N/A | N/A |
No | 125-161 | A small notebook covered with rough hemp fabric. The front cover has been stamped with the official seal of the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Thieves. | N/A | N/A |
No | 162-191 | A stiff backing of leather makes this licence from the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Thieves a little cumbersome to carry. Unyielding and inflexible, much like the rules governing the conduct of thieves within the Big Wahoonie, it is nonetheless as official as it is metaphorical. The guild coat of arms decorates the front cover, picked out in a shiny silver. | N/A | N/A |
