|Gillimer's Ring of Temperate Weather|
|Description||Creates an elegant ring that allow you to resist some temperature changes.|
Gillimer's Ring of Temperate Weather (abbrev. GRTW) is a misc-class spell for transforming any gold ring into an elegant ring. The primary function of this ring is to heat or cool the wearer towards a more comfortable temperature regardless of their current environment.
A difficulty with the spell is that after being worn for a certain amount of time, dependent on skills, the ring will become non-functional and must be re-charged by casting the spell on the drained ring. The more work the ring has to do, the faster it will drain.
The following skills are used in the stages of this spell:
A failed attempt at the spell will generally send the cast to sleep for a short period, as well as consume the components.
- The spell must be cast while standing in a forge to be effective.
- This spell was changed. You can read about it on a plaque in the Tower of Arts.
- Casting this spell on a ring obtained from the LAG will remove the inscription and associated message when wearing it
You heat the gold ring up in the forge, making it ready for the infusion of magic. You examine the ring carefully, making sure the gold is of the highest quality. You close your eyes, imagining the frosty wind of winter and the scorching sun of summer. You force the enchantment into the ring. You remove the new ring from the forge. It is curiously cool to the touch. You lock the magic into the ring, making it a magical artifact.
Your elegant ring flashes with light!
The ring grows warm in your hands, then blisteringly hot! You drop it before it melts into a puddle of gold. You feel very sleepy.
No damage, gold ring is consumed, wizard sleeps for a minute or so. This may be dangerous if he or she wears a bronze helm, but note that the sleep does not begin immediately, so there is plenty of time to remove the helm, and unless the helm has already been worn for a long time, the wizard will generally wake up in time to safely remove it anyway.
