The large, medium and small first aid kits are available from Rham-Taht Phoon in the temple of Glaxos in Ephebe.

They are containers for bandages from which you can pull a bandage or bandages, and which you can refill with more bandages.

  • While bandages are in the first aid kit, they do not count as separate objects against container limits.
  • Using the bandage command with one in your inventory, or in a container identified as "component pouch" will cause you to pull a bandage from the kit automatically.
  • Large, medium, and small first aid kits are sold half full with bandages that each weigh 50 g or 1/9 lb.
  • Strips of cloth torn from clothing can weigh less than 50 g, so if you refill a kit with those instead of the bandages the kit comes with, you can greatly reduce the total weight of the kit.

Large first aid kit

This is a large steel box for keeping bandages in. Thinly-pressed Klatchian steel, to be specific, its famed hardness and strength entirely wasted on keeping bandages safe from impalement. Its cover has a glass window set into it, allowing anyone in need of a bandage to see how full it is. To keep the bandages dry and clean, the inner surface of the box is silver-plated and a thin strip of rubber has been laid down along the crack between its cover and its sides. A vertical red cross, the symbol of Glaxos, the God of Medicine, is embossed on the side.
It is about half full of bandages.
  • The large first aid kit is about a foot long and about nine inches wide. It is made of klatchian steel, silver and glass.
  • Cost: 2M 0de
  • Holds: 80 bandages
  • Empty weight: 1 3/9 lb
  • Full weight with 50 g bandages: 10 2/9 lb

Medium first aid kit

This is a medium-sized carved ivory box for keeping bandages in. Unfortunately, the elephant that the ivory previously belonged to is already far beyond the reach of first aid. Its cover has a glass window set into it, allowing anyone in need of a bandage to see how full it is. To keep the bandages dry and clean, the inside surface of the box has been lined with glossy white velvet and a thin strip of rubber has been laid down along the crack between its cover and its sides. A vertical red cross, the symbol of Glaxos, the God of Medicine, is carved and dyed on the side.
  • The medium first aid kit is about six inches long and about four inches wide. It is made of ivory, velvet and glass.
  • Cost: S32|0de
  • Holds: 40 bandages
  • Empty weight: 6/9 lb
  • Full weight with 50 g bandages: 5 1/9 lb

Small first aid kit

This is a small wooden box for keeping bandages in. Its cover has a glass window set into it, allowing anyone in need of a bandage to see how full it is. To keep the bandages dry and clean, both the inside and the outside surfaces of the box have been lacquered and a thin strip of rubber has been laid down along the crack between its cover and its sides. A vertical red cross, the symbol of Glaxos, the God of Medicine, is painted on the side.
It is about half full of bandages.
  • The small first aid kit is about four inches long and about three inches wide. It is made of wood and glass.
  • Cost: S10|0de
  • Holds: 20 bandages
  • Empty weight: 3/9 lb
  • Full weight with 50 g bandages: 2 5/9 lb

Other first aid kits

This disposable bandage dispenser is made from leather and has a small flap on the front to keep the bandages fresh and clean. Concealed under it is a small hole, just big enough to pull a bandage through.
  • The bandage dispenser is about three inches long and roughly a couple of inches wide. It is made of leather.
  • Cost: A$2 from Opposite's All-night apothecary, on Pigsty Hill, along the western edge of Ankh-Morpork.
  • Appears to contain thirteen bandages, and cannot be refilled.
  • Full weight: 1 6/9 lb
  • Empty weight: 2/9 lb
