Special features
You can "jump into spring". This does some damage (a few hundred hitpoints) and causes you to be wrapped in a blanket of lard:

This appears to be the same effect as Granny Lipintense's Layer of Lard, as it shows up in shields.
Jumping in with open containers will also fill those containers with molten fat--which will eventually solidify into just fat.

If you stay in the spring for too long (half a minute seems to be too long), you will be further burned and will die:

It appears that if you lose all your health from jumping into the springs, you will still burn.
You will need to "leave spring" before you can leave the room.
If you jump into the spring while being already dead, you will get the following message:
You immerse yourself in the molten fat of this spring. Seeing as you are already dead and ghosts have no flesh to burn, though, it doesn't seem to cause you any problems.
If you try to leave through an exit, it assumes you are alive (typo'd)
