Effermhor's Hypersonic Assault (abbreviated as EHA) is an offensive spell that creates a sound-based area of effect attack.

- a beeswax candle (consumed)
- a jar of screaming mandrake roots (only consumed on bad failure)
Casting messages
Casting
You check the best-before date and tap the top of the jar of mandrake roots, sensing their potential. You squish the candle into two lumps and stick a lump in each ear. You gingerly open the jar and mutter a quick oath of binding on the roots. Swirling one finger in the air above the jar, you form a small cyclone. The conical cyclone begins to amplify the screaming of the mandrake roots.
Success
The cyclone swirls around you.
Failure
The horrendous screaming noise suddenly changes as the mandrake roots begin to sing in close harmony. This even penetrates your beeswax earplugs! You smash the jar in disgust.
(Jar is lost)
There is another failure message where your clothes are all removed instead of losing the jar. Details needed.
What others see
Wizard takes a close look at a jar, and taps its lid. Wizard squishes a candle into two lumps and sticks one lump into each ear. Wizard gingerly opens the jar and mutters something under his breath at the contents. Wizard swirls his finger in the air above the jar. It seems to be getting windier. A screaming sound appears on the edge of hearing and begins to increase in volume. The cyclone swirls and heads towards you. You ignore the sound completely. The cyclone dissipates into the atmosphere and the sound fades away.
Effects
Does damage to all in the room. Unlike Pragi's Fiery Gaze and G'flott's Olfactory Nightmare, trolls are equally affected.
Notes
It's possible that Wee Flaudia's Fluffy Ear Muffs provides some protection against this spell.
