Long Description
By tradition dating back to the first Qing Dynasty, a blade may not be referred to as a daikatana unless it is at least the height of the third Emperor Qan-Jing Miandai, a giant amongst men. The tread of his horse shattered mountains, and his sword struck like a tsunami. The slim, straight blade is made from dozens of layers of steel, folded in a traditional pattern of <pattern>, and the long two-handed hilt is wrapped with <wrap>.
All custom-made weapons from Wan Bending Reed have the message, "It is by the command of <player> that I was made."
Appraises As
The bending reed daikatana is about seven feet long and three inches wide. It is made of steel and could be used as a weapon of type heavy-sword.
Acquisition
May be ordered from Wan Bending Reed in the Samurai dojo, in northeastern Bes Pelargic.
The player must have at least a 300 bonus in the appropriate weapon skill, as well as a 200 unstatted bonus in people.culture.agatean, before Wan Bending Reed will consider him or her worthy to wield one of his weapons.

Weapons from Wan Bending Reed will perform better in the hands of the player they were made for.
