Fired weapons are a type of weapon on the Discworld MUD.

Because combat in the Discworld MUD usually requires two players to be in the same room, and does not account for the size of each room, ranged weapons are of extremely limited use. For example, a player can use a crossbow to attack a target who is using knives, but the game mechanics will assume that the players are within melee range of each other. As you can imagine, this would be highly disadvantageous to the would-be archer.

Assassins are the exception to this rule- Assassin guilds have the option of using a ranged weapon to close contracts.
