Aniseed is also known as anise. It is a tall annual herb topped by a cluster of white flowers. The seeds are commonly used as a spice to flavor both food and liquor. Despite similarities in name or taste, anise is not related to star anise, fennel, or licorice.
A long-stemmed plant with white flowers. Its seeds have a distinctively liquorice-like scent.
This is a small pile of green aniseeds, about three seeds.
It is not poisonous to eat.
